How To Set Up PPTP VPN on Windows 7

Hello readers, this is the second part of my previous post  How To Unblock YouTube: The Ultimate Guide. Step 1: Open Control Panel > Network and Internet Step 2: Open Network and Sharing Center Step 3: Select "Set up a new connection or network" Step 4: Select "Connect to a workplace" Step 5: Select "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)" Step 6: Enter PPTP VPN Server name or IP address. Check "Don't connect now..." checkbox. Currently the servers available for VPN Book are: Server #1: euro195.vpnbook.com Server #2: euro213.vpnbook.com Server #3: uk1.vpnbook.com (UK VPN - optimized for fast web surfing; no p2p downloading) Server #4: us1.vpnbook.com (US VPN - optimized for fast web surfing; no p2p downloading) You can always find the latest VPN Servers & passwords at www.vpnbook.com Step 7: Enter username/password from VPNBook, check "remember password" checkbox, and create connection. currently the username & password are: Username: vpnbook Password: rUt58sce Step 8: Click on the "Connect to a network" and open the property page of the newly created connection Step 9: Set Type of VPN to PPTP and Save Step 10: Click on the "Connect to a network" and Connect Step 11: Connect to VPN Step 12: Your computer successfully connects to VPNBook PPTP VPN server Step 13: Your public IP address is now changed to VPNBook server IP address Still can’t connect?? Make sure you typed in correct server address, username & password. If you still can’t connect to the VPN, follow this step: If your computer connects to internet through a router, you first need go to the router's admin interface and enable port forwarding for Port #47 (GRE protocol) to your computer. To go to your admin control panel open your web-browser, and type 192.168.1.1 this is the default gateway IP address. Different routers/modems have different admin interface, find Port forwarding in the settings & configure it as shown in above screenshot.

Step 7:

Enter username/password from VPNBook, check "remember password" checkbox, and create connection.
currently the username & password are:

Username: vpnbook

Password: rUt58sce

Step 8:

Click on the "Connect to a network" and open the property page of the newly created connection

Step 9:

Set Type of VPN to PPTP and Save

Step 10:

Click on the "Connect to a network" and Connect

Step 11:

Connect to VPN

Step 12:

Your computer successfully connects to VPNBook PPTP VPN server

Step 13:

Your public IP address is now changed to VPNBook server IP address

Still can’t connect??

Make sure you typed in correct server address, username & password.

If you still can’t connect to the VPN, follow this step:
